Members of my family had a terrible experience at the Elgin location. The supposed supervisor was very rude and not at all helpful. She didn’t do what was requested which prompted me to have to go to another DMV to correct her mistakes. She made remarks that were uncalled for and unacceptable.
Had a terrible experience at the Elgin DMV. Supposed supervisor was rude and had a major case of abusive power. She also didn’t do her job right prompting the Secretary of States office to cancel my State ID, and having to go to a different DVM to start the process all over again which is what this supervisor was supposed to have done. She was a very rude person and shouldn’t be working with people.
my daughter took a road test there because the instructor hated her aunt who worked there she failed the test. This personal issue should not have been taken out on my daughter. The supervisor dismissed it as she could not drive. It is a disgrace how corrupt the state workers are knowing they can not get reprimanded due to union protection and supervisors with a don't care attitude in black areas. I only go to a white neighborhood now where there is better respect.
The website to schedule an appointment at the freeport office indicated it was open on Saturday morning. I drove out there to purchase license plate stickers only to find it changed hours to only Monday to Friday. When I returned a few days later, the individual waiting on me informed me they changed the hours last fall. Please review all the sites available for that office and correct the hours.
When a patron writes you a check for $500 dollars, they should not have to ask for a receipt, especially in an environment where the patron is required to show the DMV proof of just about every last detail, no matter what the purpose of the visit is.
On the bright side, the Hearing Officer that I met with today was extremely helpful, completely knowledgeable, respectful, considerate and friendly. I was very pleased with my visit with her.
