Staff ( Karin) was rude, unhelpful, as usual. I gave her my paperwork and each time I needed to travel back home ( 3 trips, 8 miles one way)to get another document. I think she could have told me from the beginning everything that I needed. Mayville, NY. I will never go there again. Final step, when I wanted to write a check, I politely asked her who do I make check to...instead of a verbal reply, she tapped on the wall off her booth to a sign. She is the worst and this was my second encounter with her.

How can you have a DMV that cannot sign for a DMV consent for release? This just adds to fact that the DMV is a scam! You can get your license but no one can sign for the consent?!? Makes no sense! Plus - first I’m told I have to mail it to Albany? I have to sign it with a witness from the DMV before I can do anything. No logic in this country anymore!

My past two experiences at the DMV were pretty bad. The first time, I needed to turn in plates for a vehicle that I took off the road. I looked on line to see what I would need. Of course the one thing I did not know was that they would charge one dollar and it had to be CASH. It was during the pandemic and I had only my checkbook and a credit card. NOPE, had to be cash. I said I checked the NYS website and did not see that. She said Chautauqua co, charges a dollar. I said, I will have to drive back home(7 miles) to get a dollar and she said, "oh , I'm sure you have some change in your car". I did not. Fortunately, a man overheard this and gave me a dollar when I was in the parking lot. I went back in and waited in line again. I paid my dollar in CASH and then I asked for a receipt. He said sarcastically, "you WANT a receipt for your Dollar?" I said YES. He was not happy and had to go somewhere to find a receipt. My next experience was even worse. Of course, I did not have the correct documents and had to make a second trip. Then she asked for a third thing that I didn't have, but I was able to call my insurance company and have them fax the document. When I asked who to write the check to...she did not answer, but just tapped her finger on a sign on her wall. The whole time, I was patient and friendly because I know they have "absolute power" but this woman was so rude and unhelpful. From now on, I will do all my business through the mail and Chautauqua Co. will lose some money.
