Santa Fe New Mexico MVD Reviews and Tips
This office refuses to answer the phone. This has been a problem that I have encountered with them for a few years. I am close to calling the governors office and reporting this, and having them put out a mandate to this office that they have to answer the phone!

Fanny was an exceptional help and made the experience so pleasant. I was doing a transaction of new license for NM and she was so helpful! She took time and met myself and another gentleman at the door and helped us through making appointments and what specific information we needed to have. Thank you so very much !

Went in to transfer a title for a small boat trailer I had purchased. Title transfer was made only to be told I would have to go back into motor vehicles to pick up my license plate. It appears this department did not have any license plates for my transfer.
Real inconvenience since I live out of town.

I was unable to complete my title transfer with AAA so the clerk there made an appointment at the DMV for me. I arrived and waited like everyone else. There was no time advantage for the appointment. When it was my turn the clerk at the DMV immediately admonished me for not making an out of state title transfer appt instead of an in state title transfer appt. I explained that the appt was made for me. The clerk was curt and not pleasant about doing the transfer. The clerk seemed annoyed with me from the beginning though I had all of my documentation in order. In the end when I received the title and my name is misspelled. I believe based on my internet research I was also severely overcharged for my tag. Upon further research it seems I now have another job to prove I was overcharged and that I will have to pay a fee to have my title corrected. I am for the privatization of institutions like this since there is no financial recourse to make government institutions accountable for their mistakes, unacceptable behavior and poor service. I'd like my money back please.
