My husband and I went to get our licenses yesterday. We got there early but there was a line. Shortly after the computer system crashed We waited 2 hours for the system to come back. The reason for this post is not to complain although some did. The reason for this post is to give a big thank you for the staff at the Avent Ferry DMV office. Every staff member was highly professional and super friendly. It was a long afternoon for everyone but this group of professionals helped to make it less stressful. Thank you for your great attitudes.

I went to the DMV to take my road test. The staff was pleasant. I stood in line to get my token and then had to wait for 20-25 minutes for my road test to begin. My road test inspector was pleasant, his directions were clear although he had a thick accent. I completed my drive without any hassles and was approved for the license afterwards

My daughter was scheduled for 7am for her permit test and this was her 4th time taking the test. She was highly anxious based on previous experiences. I want to thank Tina Fenty for her kindness, patience, and compassion for my daughter. She went above and beyond to calm her down and I am happy to say that she passed the test! Please hire more people like Tina and sadly to say, I don't remember the examiner who checked us in, but she was equally calming. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Tina Fenty was extremely helpful and compassionate to my daughter who was taking her permit test for the 4th time. She passed!

Went today and ran into four Carolina Hurricanes players (including Seth Jarvis) who were also there to take care of DMV related tasks. Other than that, did not have good experience. Waited for road test for my 17 year old and was told at 4PM that "due to staff shortage, there will be no more road tests today." Oh well. Just goes to show you that, unless you are a professional athlete, book an appointment in advance. Go Canes!
