What are the rules for obtaining a CDL if you've had one in the oast
Hello,
In order to renew a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) in Colorado, you must make sure that any outstanding traffic tickets are paid, there are no pending or finalized departmental actions on your record. Renewing a Colorado CDL does not require the completion of any tests, however, you will need to make sure that a current DOT Medical cad is on file with the DMV.
If you have a HAZMAT endorsement on your CDL that needs to be renewed, this must be done in person and cannot be done online. To renew your CDL online, you must make sure that:
-Your name is the same as the name on your current license/ID (You have not gotten married, divorced, or changed your name).
-Your SSN or ITIN is on file with the DMV.
-You are in good standing with payments.
In accordance with the Federal REAL ID Act, if the photo on your CDL is older than 10 years, you must renew your CDL in person at any Colorado DMV office location. CDL drivers who are currently registered in the Address Confidentiality Program, you are not eligible for online services and you will need to schedule an appointment.
