Colorado’s Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has issued a notice that all of its facilities will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 in observance of Veterans Day【863411882116453†L2-L4】. Veterans Day is a federal holiday that honors the service and sacrifice of military veterans, and the state government will be joining other public agencies in giving employees the day off. Because the holiday falls on a Tuesday this year, all DMV field offices, driver license offices and motor vehicle registration counters will be closed to walk‑in and scheduled appointments. The Division’s appointment scheduling phone lines and call centers will also be unavailable.

The Colorado DMV stresses that no in‑person services will be available on Veterans Day, so customers who planned to visit an office should reschedule or postpone their trip until after the holiday. Normal business hours will resume on Wednesday, November 12【863411882116453†L2-L4】. Appointments scheduled for November 11 will be automatically rescheduled or the office will contact customers with new appointment options. Customers should check their email for updated appointment confirmations or call the DMV after offices reopen if they have questions.

Despite the physical office closure, many DMV transactions can still be completed online. Through the state’s myDMV portal, customers can renew their driver licenses or ID cards, order duplicate titles and registration certificates, pay fees, and update their addresses. Vehicle registration renewals can also be done through the portal, and license plates can be renewed by mail. Residents who need a Real ID–compliant license, which will be required for domestic air travel and access to federal buildings starting May 2025, can review required documents and schedule an appointment for another day. The DMV encourages customers to use online services to avoid long lines when offices reopen. For those with urgent needs, the DMV will respond to emails and calls starting November 12. Additional information about the closure and online services is available on the Colorado DMV’s official website【863411882116453†L2-L4】.
