Questions and Answers
Hello I just recently moved from a different state and had a few questions on obtaining my drivers license. I did the pre registration application and I believe I have all the necessary documents paystub, mail, etc. but am i allowed to use a relatives vehicle for the test drive?
Yes, you can use a relative's car. In Colorado the car you use to take your road test must meet these requirements:
- Current registration, insurance, and inspection sticker
- A windshield with no cracks or debris that would obstruct the view
- Working speedometer, horn, rearview mirror, seatbelts, and windshield wipers
- Make sure the driver and passenger doors must open from the inside and outside
- Working lights be sure to check brake lights, turn signal lights in front and back, headlights and taillights
- No check engine or warning lights illuminated on the dashboard this includes low gas
- Tires can't be bald or damaged
The examiner will check these things before starting the road test.
