Even without an appt I only waited about 40 minutes to get in to renew my driver's license. The staff was very helpful an patient especially with the COVID procedures in place. I was able to take the exam and eye test, pay my fees and get photographed all in under two hours. I was very pleased.

The staff was really helpful. When I first got into the location, the woman at the front took my temperature because of COVID. I walked inside and filled out my sheet. I waited about 20 minutes before I was called up to one of the counters to be assisted. The lady was nice and we got done pretty fast. They were not taking appointments due to COVID unless it was for driving. I like the new setups with the kiosk inside. I would suggest being there early and being prepared.

I sincerely cannot begin to express how Ungodly awful my experience here was. I mean that genuinely, being at this DMV, or any DMV really is more akin to a Greek Sisyphean style realm of the underworld than an effective or even useful government department building. This all started because the payment for my license failed to process (despite the fact that I'd received and had my license for months), and that's fine. While like most sensible people I do find the idea of paying 45 dollars for what is essentially a credit card with my picture on it absurd, I would've been only mildly irritated about having to redo the payment process. Instead I was told my license was "Cancelled" (whatever that means) and thus thrusted into a Kafkaesque journey where upon arrival at the DMV I was rudely (I don't say this to exaggerate. I work in customer service, so I do my best to treat customer service workers like human beings, but the people there seemed irritated at just my presence) greeted and told by four different people there that not only did I get to pay the original fee for my license, but I'll also be paying for the cost of a new license, retaking my drivers test, and paying a 30 dollar "service fee" (what service? these people aren't marines). All that in the span of two hours. Truly the workers there have more in common with random encounter NPCs than real people, and I don't say that to dehumanize them. I say that because THAT IS HOW THEY TREATED ME. OVER SOMETHING THAT WAS THE FAULT OF THEIR SYSTEM. I'm not a conspiracy guy by any means also suspect this whole thing was an elaborate ruse on their part to overcharge me and probably others almost triple the cost of a normal license. Mind you I say this primarily because (I will try to say this without giving away too many personal details) in my line of work if a payment doesn't process, or a check bounces it is apparent IMMEDEATELY. There is no possible way they wouldn't know within AT LEAST 48 hours, and therefore just not send me the license in the first place. I just don't understand why they would be such Nazis about, once again, what is essentially a debit card with my picture and birthday on it. I know the word "Nazi" gets thrown around a lot nowadays, but these people truly are just such "just following orders" Nuremberg defense bootlickers who have more in common with third reich commanders than average Americans. The real Nazis are not the "woke left" or geriatric Donald Trump. The real Nazis work at the DMV.
