Paso Robles DMV Office to Close Temporarily for Renovations; Customers Encouraged to Use Online Services
The California Department of Motor Vehicles has announced the temporary closure of the Paso Robles field office at 841 Park St. The closure will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, and the office is scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5. Renovations will include new flooring and interior paint. Customers are encouraged to utilize online services during this period.
PASO ROBLES, Calif. — The California Department of Motor Vehicles is alerting customers that the Paso Robles field office at 841 Park St. will be temporarily closing for renovations beginning 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16. The office is scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5.
The renovations are part of an ongoing effort to enhance the facility and will include new flooring and interior paint. During the closure, customers are encouraged to visit nearby field offices in San Luis Obispo, located at 3190 S. Higuera St., 31 miles away, and King City, at 101 E San Antonio Drive, 53 miles away.
In a statement, the DMV emphasized the convenience of online services, stating, "Most DMV tasks do not require an office visit. The DMV encourages customers to use its online services and other service channels to complete transactions, including eligible driver's license and vehicle registration renewals."
Customers can also use the Service Advisor on the DMV website to learn their options to complete DMV tasks. To sign up for paperless vehicle registration and driver's license renewal notices, customers must sign in or create a secure online account at dmv.ca.gov and then opt in.
The DMV's push toward digital services is part of a broader initiative to streamline processes and make services more accessible to the public. The temporary closure of the Paso Robles office is expected to result in a more modern and efficient facility, aligning with the DMV's commitment to continuous improvement.
