Needed help on a car I hadn't received paperwork for after purchase -- I did not have to wait very long and the person that helped me knew the answer to my question but, more importantly, he was super nice (which makes a difference!)

The first trip to renew my drivers license I was told I needed a doctors approval. I've been driving for over 65 years and because of an accident I only see out of one eye. My accident happened when I was 22 and I just turned 82. I got in to see my doctor and it went well and he wondered why they needed this. Anyway, I went back to DMV and received my number to be called and as I watched the board waiting my number disappeared. They never called so I just went up to a window. There was really no waiting as there were not many people. Anyway it was the same guy. I gave him everything and then told me I have to take the driving test. What for?? My record is clean and he just said I have to so I made an appointment and the soonest date is OCTOBER 7. He did give me a temporary extension on my license but I'm in better health than most people. I asked if I was in a doctors office since it takes that long to get an appointment to see any doctor.
