South Dallas DPS Mega Center

The location was very well-organized. I came in to get a Texas Driver's License. When I arrived, they took my temperature, then immediately gave me an eye test. They had me wait for an open teller in a seating area with seats 6-feet apart. The teller was very professional and fast. However, when I got my provisional license, the teller had incorrectly put my eye color in wrong--so I had to request a change and be mailed a new license. It wasn't too arduous, though.

I had a Saturday morning appointment and it went really smoothly, except the drive there was a bit scary as I do not like to drive on major roads. There was plenty of parking and once checked in, I waited perhaps 10 minutes. Because of COVID protocols. they staff was very strict. There was a sign in English stating that after you got up from the chair you were sitting on in the waiting area, you were to turn it around for cleaning. One man who did not speak English well and perhaps couldn't read the sign got up from his chair and started to walk away and was very rudely yelled at by the staff. The employee who processed my new Real ID license was knowlegeable but not at all friendly. However, the entire experience was five stars compared to previous DMV visits that have taken hours. I hope they stick with the appointment system.

It was a very nice location. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would recommend this location to friends and family if they need it
