I bought a golf cart from an individual. What do I need to do in order to register it and get permit?
To get a golf cart permit you must:
Complete the Golf Cart Permit Registration (SCDMV Form GC-2)
Provide proof of insurance for the golf cart
Provide your valid driver's license number
Pay $5
You may purchase a golf cart permit at any SCDMV branch.
Golf Cart Permit Registration (SCDMV Form GC-2) requires that you certify that you own it. SC Bill 1011 states the owner of a golf cart shall provide proof of its ownership in the form of a bill of sale, certificate of origin, or other evidence satisfactory to the department to prove his ownership of the golf cart."
