I would like to let everyone know of a great, wonderful experience I had today at the Spring Lake License Plate Agency. A lady (Ms. Virginia) went above and beyond to help me with getting my vehicle registered. If not for Ms. Virginia, I would not have been able to register my vehicle. I am traveling out of the country for 6 weeks.
With employees like Ms. Virginia, I can truly say the Agency is in good hands. Ms. Virginia is an asset to the Agency, and to the North Carolina DMV. Thjank you to Ms. Virginia.

After hearing about the horror stories of getting a driver's license at this location, my wife and I decided to give it a try. We arrived around 7:30 am, shortly after they had opened. There were no lines outside and only a short line inside. We were greeted by a very pleasant DMC employee. She had us input our phone numbers and then assigned us a number. She explained we could leave as it would be several hours before our number was called. We went home and followed the progress on the app they sent to us on our phone. When it got close to our number, we went back and had to wait about 30 minutes before we were called. It took about 10 minutes each to obtain our North Carolina license. Everyone we came in contact with was very polite and friendly. WE did go on a Thursday which seemed to be slower.
Carrboro DMV - I went on-line five weeks prior to schedule an appointment. My appointment to obtain a ReadID was scheduled for 09/04 @11:00 am. I was in/out of my appointment in approximately 15 minutes. CECE was the employee who helped me through the process. CECE was amazing! She was professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly! If you go on-line to schedule an appointment and CARRBORO is available...schedule your appointment there and hopefully you will be fortunate enough to be called to "station #3" to work with CECE! (I currently live in Raleigh, NC.)
Visited on 9/10/2025. 7:30am appointment to renew DL and apply for Real Id. Out of office by 7:20am! Thank you to the wonderful employee who checked everyone in and assisted me. 5 stars
