Wake County NCDMV - Driver License Office

The DMV website and the phone number 919 715-7000 advises ALL DMVs allow walk ins in the afternoon. NOT SO... Fuquay does not, but you have to go their individual website to find this out. According to the person I spoke with on the phone Fuquay-Varina is the only one that does this, even though it says ALL everywhere but the Fuquay Varina Website. I guess the definition of ALL has been changed. Trying to schedule an appointment is challenging on the website and only allowed 90 days out. Totally messed up that so much time has to be sent on something that should be seamless. TIP don't wait until the last minute to get your real ID and always check your local DMV website... just don't get caught up in the confusing loop from that website of trying to book an appointment. Good Luck. I gave a 2 rating because the Fuquay DMV worker was top notch! I think they should be aware of where/how to refer you when they can't help.
