The wait time to see a worker was only about 10 minutes, which was nice compared to other DMV's that I've had to go to and wait hours. The lady who helped me renew my license was very nice and professional. Easily the best DMV experience I have ever had.

I went the first business day after a holiday, at the beginning of the month, but I had to wait much longer than I expected. That wasn't any fault of the location but I had to stand outside. Due to COVID there were areas marked to stand so that people could stay social distanced. A staff member stood at the door to make sure only a small number of people were allowed inside at one time. Once I got inside I checked in and took a number and only had to wait about ten to fifteen minutes to be seen. My wait time to get in was about three times as long as the time it took to both renew my license and renew my registration. I was overall pleased with the staff and service. My only tip would be to maybe wait until the middle of the week and be prepared to stand outside for some time.

In Florida, your permanent disabled handicap placard must be renewed every four years before your birthday. Florida residents who are issued a permanent disabled handicap placard will receive a renewal notice in the mail prior to it expiring.

To renew your Florida handicap placard, you will need to complete and submit Form HSMV 83039, Application For Disabled Person Parking Permit. You will also need to have the form signed by one of the following certifying authorities:
-A physician licensed under Chapter 458, Chapter 459 or Chapter 460
-A podiatric physician licensed under Chapter 461
-An optometrist licensed under Chapter 463
-An advanced practice registered nurse licensed under Chapter 458 or Chapter 459; or
-A similarly licensed physician from another state as long as the application is accompanied by proof of the physician's license in the other state and a Form HSMV 83039 is signed by the out of state physician verifying his or her knowledge of Florida's eligibility requirements.

To access the application to renew your Florida handicap placard, please visit: https://www.flhsmv.gov/pdf/forms/83039.pdf.
