I recently had an appointment for the Behind The Wheel exam, and it turned out to be the worst Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) I’ve ever been to. The lady at the counter never informed us that my dad would need to be inside the vehicle until the instructor arrived. When the instructor finally came out, she automatically disqualified my exam because my dad was outside the vehicle. I understand that this was an oversight, but no one had mentioned it to us beforehand. My dad and I decided to return to the MVA building and inform their staff about the mistake. Instead of acknowledging their error, they chose to defend the lady at the counter who never reminded us about this. It’s important to note that they weren’t even near her when we were talking to her. One of their staff members even called her supervisor to in order for us to address this issue to the supervisor, but she repeated the same behavior. Instead of apologizing for their mistake, she yelled at us and defended the lady at the counter. This isn’t the first time we’ve had an issue with this branch. Last year, when we were trying to register our new vehicle, they refused to tell us what other documents we needed. Instead, they yelled at us and never provided us with any information about the missing documents.
Do you guys think my dad will get out of the vehicle or I’ll let him get out of the vehicle before the instructor comes out if the lady at the counter reminded us about this? No right? Their staff were trying to make us look ignorant about this.

I have been coming to this location for years and I have to say compared to other locations (particularly Waldorf) it is hands down the best. The staff are actually friendly and smile. I will only do business here.
I went to this MVA location on Saturday morning, March 28th, 2026 to renew an expired driver's license. I was expecting a long wait and a hassle. I was in line for less than two minutes, directed to the vision test. The young lady there was very helpful for the 60 second exam. Next directed to the kiosk to renew the license. The greeter there was also very helpful and assisted me in completing that task. I was in and out of the building within 20 minutes. Staff was very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. Being an old(er) guy and not computer literate, I was truly pleased. Kudos to the staff at this location. You made my day.
The one and only self service kiosk to test for emissions is broken. No one inside the building willing to assist.
I called the MVA & made an appointment with the BelAir MD MVA to renew my license.
When I got there I was told that I would need to make an earlier appointment because I was a few minutes early & I was told I could not wait for my appointment time.
I was then ushered to a KIOSK to renew my license .
I read on line that I could renew in person at my age so I called and made the appointment. I was texted a number to use when I got there.
