Wisconsin Revokes Licenses from Florida Vehicle Buyer and Beaver Dam Dealer

Madison City

In a move underscoring its commitment to protect consumers, the state of Wisconsin revoked the licenses of a Florida vehicle buyer and a Beaver Dam wholesale dealer due to violations of state law. The license revocations were made by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Division of Motor Vehicles.

Florida Vehicle Buyer License Revoked

Larry Hopson of E and N Auto Group LLC, located at 13211 N. Nebraska Avenue #I, Tampa, Florida, had his vehicle buyer’s license revoked. The decision was made due to his direct sales of motor vehicles to consumers in the Milwaukee area.

A Wisconsin buyer’s license permits an individual to bid on and purchase vehicles at Wisconsin’s wholesale motor vehicle auctions. However, these vehicles can only be purchased on behalf of their employer(s) and not for personal or other's use. Licensed buyers are not permitted to sell directly to the public.

The license revocation took effect from April 24, 2023. Despite being given 30 days to appeal, Hopson did not, rendering the decision final.

Beaver Dam Dealer License Revoked

The wholesale dealer license for ARB Auto LLC, located at 822 Park Ave #I19, Beaver Dam, was also revoked. ARB Auto was found guilty of multiple violations, including:

  • Directly selling motor vehicles to consumers
  • Rolling back odometers on vehicles
  • Falsifying title documents when selling vehicles to customers

Similar to the Florida case, ARB Auto's license revocation took effect from April 24, 2023, and the decision was final after the dealer did not appeal within the 30-day window.

Implications

These actions underline Wisconsin’s strong stance against violations of state laws by licensed auto dealers and buyers. They serve as a reminder for all license holders to ensure strict adherence to state laws and regulations to prevent license revocations. This is an important measure to protect Wisconsin consumers and ensure fairness in the motor vehicle industry.
