Wisconsin DMV Reminds the Public How To Get ID to Vote

With the impending spring election on April 4th, Wisconsin's Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has released a reminder for voters on methods to attain a valid form of identification without having to pay a cent to cast their ballot.
Valid forms of voter identification extend to driver's licenses and ID cards for the general public, members of the armed forces, and students; there is no such thing as a specific form of identification used solely for voting. Further, no Wisconsinite needs a federally-compliant REAL ID card to cast their vote. Anyone concerned that their preferred ID might not meet the standards needed to vote should check in with the state's Elections Commission website to verify the validity of their ID.
Anyone looking to gain ID to show to the poll workers should start by going onto the website of the DMV. The website will display a robust list of the necessary documentation to bring to any DMV Customer Service Center, as well as the addresses, services, and operating hours of all centers found within the state. If the necessary documents are unavailable, the DMV can pursue the Voter ID Petition Process (IDPP) to collect them. IDPP is a free process that can quickly produce a receipt that counts as a valid form of identification to bring to the polls while the other documents and/or their verification is acquired.
Any citizen who still has questions or concerns regarding the acquisition of a valid form of ID to vote within the state of Wisconsin is encouraged to call the DMV's toll-free number at (844) 588-1069. Any questions concerning voter validity, polling sites, information on registering to vote, and so on can be answered by going to the Wisconsin Elections Commission's official website.
