  • A username can be a combination of any letter or digits (0-9)

Reasons why Should Apply For W-TAP

W-TAP authorizes your movements on approved safe segments of closed roadways. With W-TAP membership, you have the chance to join Wyoming Authorized Travel (WAT) and the Rolling Closure Authorization (RCA). WAT is open for all drivers though you must convince the authority why you should travel on the barricaded roads.

The WAT program provides you with up to seven options of road sections to choose from. Additionally, should there be any eventuality, WYDOT will keep alerting you to only drive on the authorized sections of the road. You may be notified via your email or W-TAP account.

The RCA program is purely limited to drivers with Wyoming driver's licenses. Such motorists can drive on roads closed due to a temporary street right-of-way closure. The RCA doesn't require you to justify why you must travel on a closed highway; nonetheless, you must subscribe to the set rules of the program.

More importantly, only Wyoming Highway Patrol has the absolute authority to permit movements beyond the highway closure gates. Based on the changing weather conditions or other factors, Wyoming Highway Patrol is mandated to quash any decision made by WATs or RCAs.

WYDOT encourages residents to quickly apply for travel authorizations before the winter sets in as a safety measure. Returning users are advised to use their W-TAP account and update their selected routes and other necessary details. Registered members should confirm their participation in the program too.
