JEFFERSON CITY - The Missouri Department of Revenue reminds the public that Troy's temporary, state-operated license office will close on May 6, 2022.

The Department commended the state team members, especially the staff at the in Troy, for the diligent work they have performed since the office opened in April 2021. However, the state department noted that the major concern was staffing as it assured the customers that they will open the license office once the pending litigation is sorted.

Until then everyone who need assistance are asked to seek alternatives. The Department will be working closely with local officials and community leaders to ensure that all affected customers in Troy are able to continue receiving services from other nearby license office.

All drivers' license, nondriver license, and identification card transactions previously done at the Troy location may be performed at the nearby locations listed below:
• Wentzville License Office - 807 B East Pearce Blvd., Wentzville, MO 63385
• Warrenton License Office - 1000 Warrenton Outlet Center, Ste. 12, Warrenton, MO 63383.
• Bowling Green License Office - 204 S Business Hwy 61, Bowling Green, MO 63334
• O'Fallon License Office - 2421 Hwy K, O'Fallon, MO 63368

Customers with pending appointments at the Troy location will receive email notifications (if they have provided an email address) and letters in the mail with instructions on how to reschedule their appointments at one of the other locations.

The Department has also set up online services for customers who would like to make new requests as follows:
Online License Plate Renewal
So long as the county shares property tax information, the online plate renewal is fast and convenient. Enter your information from your current registration (your name, address, and vehicle identification number). A vehicle identification number (VIN) is required for all vehicles except trailers.
Renewal Requirement Inquiry
The service is for those requesting for information the registration renewal process and requirements. The Department set up a 24/7 chatbot, DORA, to assist in responding to common inquiries and questions regarding motor vehicle and driver licensing.
