Savannah License Office is Open

Missouri State Capitol Building

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The newly established Savannah License Office opened its doors for the first time today, providing a new location for drivers in the Savannah area to obtain and renew their licenses.

The office initiated operations at 420 Court St., Savannah, MO 64485 at 8:30 a.m. For specific hours of operation and days, the public is encouraged to check the License Office Location Map on the Department of Revenue's website at dor.mo.gov/license-office-locator/. Alternatively, individuals can call the office directly at (816) 324-5122.

Bill Calderwood, who was awarded the management contract for the Savannah License Office on March 16, 2023, will oversee the office's operations. Calderwood won the contract through a competitive bid process, a standard procedure in Missouri for awarding license office contracts.

Although independent contractors manage license offices in Missouri, they remain under the direct supervision of the Missouri Department of Revenue. This hybrid model allows for the private sector's competitive efficiency while ensuring a state agency's public accountability.

The new Savannah License Office marks a key milestone in the state's ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and efficiency in its licensing services. As the latest addition to Missouri's network of license offices, the Savannah location will serve local drivers, helping to streamline their licensing needs and contributing to the region's transportation infrastructure.
