Redmond DMV office set to reopen three days a week after six-month closure
The agency announced today that, starting Nov. 15th, the Redmond DMV office will be open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The six-month closure was due to staffing shortages. This new schedule will be in place for the next eight weeks. The Redmond office is not staffed to open more days or longer hours.
The DMV encourages customers to use their online services to reduce wait times and contact with others. Online services include driver license renewals, address changes, vehicle registration renewal, requesting driving records, and more.
The DMV also asks customers to wear face coverings while visiting their offices. They are also limiting the number of people allowed in the office at one time and encourage customers to wait outside if possible.
All drivers must stay up-to-date with their license renewal; failure to do so can result in delayed services and fines.
The DMV is committed to providing safe service for customers during the pandemic. The new three-day schedule will bring some normalcy back to the Redmond office while still adhering to safety protocols.
The DMV also encourages customers to utilize the self-service kiosks available throughout Oregon, including the Redmond office, to make transactions such as address changes, driver license renewals, and vehicle registration renewals. The kiosks are open 24 hours a day.
