The South Dakota Department of Revenue (DOR) office in Rapid City has relocated to the Rapid City One Stop, situated at 221 Mall Dr. The new facility will serve as a consolidated hub for seven state departments, making it easier for residents to access essential state services in one central location.

Secretary of the Department of Transportation Mike Houdyshell remarked, "We have been waiting for this change that will not only be an upgrade for our personnel but also help us be better equipped to service all our customers." "The new one-stop shop exemplifies the state's forward-thinking approach to addressing the concerns of all parties involved."

The Haines Ave location of the Rapid City revenue office will be closed on Thursday, September 29, and Friday, September 30, as employees relocate to the new Mall Drive location. The Haines Ave location will resume on Monday, October 3, during regular business hours. Please call us at 1(800) 829-9188 or use the chat feature on our website at dor.sd.gov. Construction of the 100,000-square-foot building began in March of 2021, and in August of that year, the South Dakota Lottery became the first state institution to relocate there. Even for remote workers, DOR made an effort to create a comfortable and productive environment. Assistance for individuals and businesses with tax preparation, sales tax registration, and other tax-related problems is available.
