The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is pleased to announce the availability of a new license plate honoring women veterans in the state. This special plate serves as an important reminder of the sacrifices and bravery of those who served our nation while also helping to support veterans’ trust funds.

The Honoring Our Women Veterans License Plate was created by the Virginia General Assembly in 2018 with unanimous support from both parties. It features an American flag on one side and an eagle silhouette with bold text honoring women veterans on the other. It has been available for sale since July 1st, 2020, and has already seen strong demand across Virginia.

The Honoring Our Women Veterans license plate celebrates and recognizes the service and contributions of women in the United States Armed Forces. It features a red, white, and blue background with an image of an eagle clutching three stars representing the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force branches. The words “Honoring Our Women Veterans” appear at the top, with a black-and-white image of the U.S. flag in the lower right corner.

The cost of the license plate is $35 and includes an annual fee of $36 that goes into PennDOT’s Veterans Trust Fund to support veterans’ programs throughout Pennsylvania. It can be purchased from any county treasurer in person or online.

The Honoring Our Women Veterans license plate pays homage to those who served our country and helps us remember their bravery and sacrifices. It also serves as a symbol of our commitment to providing quality programs and services for women veterans across Pennsylvania, helping them transition back into civilian life with dignity and respect.
