ENDICOTT, N.Y. — The Governor's Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) announced today that it would offer free car seat checks by certified child passenger safety technicians for parents and caregivers in Broome County. The inspections will take place on Wednesday, March 22, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Endicott Fire Department, located at 224 Madison Ave, Endicott.

For more information, contact Christine Marion at (607) 778-2807 or [email protected].

These events are part of a year-round safety initiative in which state and local law enforcement agencies, along with various community safety partners, offer free car seat inspections. Trained technicians utilize the "Learn, Practice, and Explain" model to educate parents and caregivers on how to choose and properly install the appropriate seat for their child's age and size, as well as their vehicle, ensuring correct usage every time.

Parents and caregivers who cannot attend the free car seat check event can schedule an appointment with a local fitting station. For more information on upcoming car seat check events in your area, visit the GTSC website.
