Reno: On November 2, the Nevada Board of Motor Vehicles is scheduled to inaugurate its new office in the south Reno area of the city.

Julie Butler, the Director of the Department of Motor Vehicles, expressed her excitement at establishing a new building to serve the community better. "We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone involved in the construction of this stunning new building."

Three kiosks are outside the new office at 9155 Double Diamond Parkway. These kiosks are designed to assist speed up the process for consumers, and one of them is the very first drive-through kiosk in the entire country. The following are additional features:

Forty-two thousand square feet of space, with a television screen in the foyer shaped like a stadium.

An emissions and business driver's license (CDL) facility operates independently.

Five hundred fifty parking spots in total, as opposed to the previous facility's total of 120.

53 client service windows, an increase over the previous count of 36 in the last building

The new structure was constructed over 15 months with an approximate budget of fifty million dollars. 2011 marked the beginning of planning and design, which was later revisited in 2018.

The previous DMV office, which was located at 305 Galletti Way, will be permanently shut down on October 23 and replaced with the new structure.

From October 26 through October 30, the Reno Department of Motor Vehicles office will be moving; therefore, there will be no regular services accessible there.

On October 16, the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Commercial Vehicle offices in Sparks, which are now located at 810 Greg Street, will close their doors for good, and on October 19, they will reopen in their new site. These services are located in a separate facility on the property that bears the address 890 Trademark Drive and is accessed via the property's main entrance.

Since appointments will still be necessary for in-person visits, the DMV requests that all customers complete their transactions at dmvnv.com whenever it is convenient.
