New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission Mobile Inspection Unit to Visit Somerville

SOMERVILLE, NJ - The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission Mobile Inspection Unit is scheduled to set up shop at the Carol Pager Park parking lot on Green Street from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 31.

In accordance with state law, vehicles must be inspected once every two years in New Jersey, except for new vehicles, which are granted a five-year inspection. Drivers are advised to check the inspection sticker on their windshield to determine when their vehicle is due for inspection. Vehicles can be inspected up to two months before the expiration date.

Drivers must bring their driver's license, vehicle registration, and proof of New Jersey insurance to the inspection station. Some inspection facilities allow drivers to schedule appointments online and check wait times at the facility.
