New Department of Driver Services Center Opens in Coweta County at Shenandoah

Shenandoah River Bridge

The Department of Driver Services (DDS) in Newnan, Coweta County, is relocating to a brand new customer service center (CSC) at the Coweta County at Shenandoah complex. The new location will begin offering services on Tuesday, July 25th at 87 Newnan Station Drive, Newnan, GA 30265.

Key Features of the New Location

The relocation represents a significant modernization effort, with the new center designed to handle a greater volume of customers more efficiently. This new facility is made possible through a partnership between Coweta County and the State of Georgia, with the County providing the new facility and the State providing equipment and staffing.

"This new center gives us the capability to serve a greater number of customers in a very efficient manner. We are very pleased with the help and support we are receiving from Coweta County," said DDS Commissioner Spencer R. Moore.

Operating Hours and Services

The new CSC will operate from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and will be closed on Monday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Residents can access various driver's licensing services, including renewals, replacements, and address changes. Customers are urged to use the DDS Online Services at www.dds.georgia.gov, where most transactions come with a five-dollar discount.

Prepare Before Your Visit

If visiting in person, completing mandatory paperwork online before arrival is essential. Regardless of being a long-term driver or resident of Georgia, an application must be completed for any service. The application can be accessed at www.dds.georgia.com and sent electronically to DDS before arrival. If not, paperwork must be completed at the computer Tech Deck before being issued a service number.

Benefits to the Community

The new center will replace the previous location on Bullsboro Road, where DDS has been serving the citizens since 2006. The relocation to a modernized center will provide:

  • Enhanced Efficiency: Streamlined processes to serve more customers.
  • Convenient Location: Centrally located in the Coweta County at Shenandoah complex.
  • Online Discounts: Encouraging online services for common transactions.

The relocation signifies a commitment to improving the efficiency and accessibility of driver services in Coweta County. By offering modernized facilities and encouraging the use of online services, the new center aims to provide a more convenient and rewarding experience for the community.
