CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) unveiled a new online case management system, allowing residents to submit complaints against car dealers, garages, and other businesses licensed by the DMV. This development marks a significant milestone in the agency's four-year Department Transformation Effort.

DMV Director Julie Butler expressed excitement about the milestone, stating, "This is the first look at the DMV of the future." The new system utilizes Salesforce, a customer relationship platform, which will support nearly all DMV transactions within the next few years.

The case management system streamlines the intake, assignment, and tracking of cases for the DMV's Compliance Enforcement Division, which consists of 29 sworn and 12 non-sworn investigators. The division investigates complaints against licensed businesses, as well as identity theft involving Nevada driver's licenses or other DMV documents.

Compliance Enforcement Administrator J.D. Decker praised the new online complaint forms for their ease of use, adding that they will "ultimately help protect Nevadans from fraud, theft, and bad business practices."

Basic features of the case management system, such as customer information pages and document upload, will serve as a foundation for future driver's license and vehicle transactions.

The DMV has collaborated with external partners Slalom, Mission Critical Partners, and Salesforce to establish an effective teamwork structure. This collaboration aims to ensure that the Department Transformation Effort is completed on time and on budget in 2025. For more information about the initiative, visit dmv.nv.gov/dmvfuture.
