Leesburg, VA DMV Relocates and Shutters Prior Location

Leesburg Virginia

The city of Leesburg, Virginia, is choosing to relocate its DMV Customer Service Center to a spacious new location that should offer greater customer efficiency. The current office, located at 945 Edwards Ferry Road NE, had its last day of operation on Thursday, October 27, 2022. This new location can be found along 400 Fort Evans Road and will open its doors to the public on Monday, November 14, 2022.

During the interim between the Edwards Ferry Road location's closure and November 14th, anyone that needs to manage some business with the DMV can go onto the official website, dmvNOW.com, and get over 50 services handled without ever having to show up to a physical location. If an individual needs to engage with the DMV in person before the new location opens to the public, the organization recommends making an appointment with, or entering the facility during regular office hours, of either Sterling Office, located at:

  • 22360 South Sterling Boulevard (located in Sterling Plaza)
  • 100 Free Court, Sterling, VA 20164

Anyone who needs to engage in a vehicular transaction such as renewing their registration, title, license plate, or even vehicular decals is advised to visit any partner DMV Select location for service.

The new Leesburg office features an excess of 4,000 square feet beyond the space of the old office and sill features seven more customer service windows than the prior location. Furthermore, the complex will feature a new countertop that should make service more efficient between better flow for crowds and being equipped to engage with more customers simultaneously. For context, the old Leesburg office was a single-story structure that occupied 8,260 square feet across 2.34 acres of land and was built in 1999.
