Governor Lamont Launches a New Connecticut DMV Website
Governor Lamont’s administration has launched a new website for its transport agency. The goal of the new website is to help streamline the online services it provides to its residents. It aims to make customer transactions faster, easier, and more convenient.
The revamped website has been updated with features like several language options, including Chinese, German, French, Russian, Spanish, French, and Polish. The governor also revealed that the transport department would add features allowing customers to carry out two or more online transactions, including replacing lost titles and requesting funds after canceling vehicle registration. Previously, such forms were only available in paper forms.
Governor Lamont said that his administration has desired to shift and digitize most of its operations– including the ones at the transport department. This means residents of Connecticut will not have to book in-person appointments to submit their paper forms.
Delays in service delivery in the Motor vehicle department have generally reduced over the past few years. The state government has been running a campaign to encourage the people of Connecticut to embrace online services.
“Having to queue for hours waiting to be attended to at a DMV office is frustrating. I have committed myself to come up with policies that make service delivery in this agency more efficient and less time-consuming”, said governor Lamont.
The DMV has closely been working with the Department of Administration services to transform the website.
DMV deputy commissioner Toney Guerrera said that his team had been focused on improving service delivery within the agency. “Our objective has been to move as many services as possible online to make transactions quick and less time-consuming,” said Guerrera.
Over the past few years, the state’s administration, under the auspices of governor Lamont, has introduced different policies aimed at streamlining service delivery at the DMV.
