The Governor's Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) announced that certified child passenger safety technicians will offer free car seat checks for parents and caregivers in Onondaga County. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 29, at the Fayetteville Fire Department, located at 425 East Genesee Street in Fayetteville, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This initiative is part of a year-round safety program in which state and local law enforcement agencies, along with various community safety partners, provide free car seat inspections. Using the "Learn, Practice, and Explain" model, trained technicians educate parents and caregivers on selecting the appropriate car seat for their child's age and size, as well as their vehicle. They also offer guidance on proper installation, ensuring the car seat is used correctly on every trip.
