Free Car Seat Inspections And Assistance Offered In Niagara, Erie, And Westchester Counties.

The Governor's Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) announced today that certified child passenger safety technicians will be conducting free car seat inspections for parents and caregivers in Niagara, Erie, and Westchester counties. The events are part of a year-round safety initiative, in which state and local law enforcement agencies partner with community safety organizations to offer these critical services.

In Niagara and Erie counties, the inspections will take place on Saturday, April 1, at multiple locations in Lewiston, Sanborn, and Buffalo, and on Tuesday, April 11, in Lockport. Parents and caregivers can learn how to choose the appropriate car seat for their child's age, size, and vehicle type, and receive hands-on assistance with proper installation.

Inspections in Westchester County will be held on Saturday, April 1, at Highlands Middle School in White Plains. Certified technicians will use the "Learn, Practice, and Explain" model to guide parents and caregivers through the process of selecting and installing the right car seat for their child.
