Division of Motor Vehicle Promises Better Motor Vehicle Services in Anchorage, Alaska
Many of us will visit the Division of Motor vehicles (DMV) at one time or another. However, like in other public offices, you will face challenges like the shortage of parking space, lack of enough sitting space, and long queues. These issues reduce the quality of services you expect.
In the U.S alone, Americans waste about 37 billion hours yearly in queues. Being stuck in queues is not just time-wasting but also causes tremendous frustration. Moreover, waiting in queues is becoming unacceptable to many people today, and instant service expectations are rising. Businesses in the private sector rely on technological infrastructure to offer better and quicker service. Public offices are also not being left behind. They are developing creative solutions to deal with these problems.
In Anchorage, Alaska, the Division of Motor Vehicle (DMV) office planned to review its operating hours starting from May 5, 2012. This is aimed at offering better services, especially on Saturdays when more people have the chance to visit DMV offices. People have been used to standing in long queues to get their motor vehicle registration and driver’s license. But things are about to change now!
You will now have almost an entire day on Saturday to get motor vehicle services. Starting 10 a.m to 6 p.m on Saturdays, you can visit the Anchorage-Benson office at 1300 for motor vehicle services. The other operating hours for this office will be Tuesday to Friday, starting at 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. However, the Saturday services in the Downtown DMV office at 517 West 7th Avenue will cease. Instead, you can visit the office from Tuesday to Friday, starting 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Customers will also enjoy additional services in the Anchorage-Benson office on Saturday.
The changes will help cut down the time people spend accessing DMV services. In addition, the expansion of services will reduce the number of trips to these offices, resulting in improved customer experience.
