1. EVIDENCE OF AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE (OR ANOTHER OFFICIAL SOURCE OF INSURANCE).

If you do not have proof of automobile insurance, submit an Application for Evidence of Automobile Insurance (Form 1008) and pay the required fee.

2. REGISTRATION RENEWAL.

You are encouraged to renew your registration with the State of Delaware online. They will mail the renewal notice to the address on your registration 3 to 8 weeks before expiration.

3. REPLACEMENT LICENSE

If you have a replacement/duplicate license and it has been lost, stolen, or mutilated, you must complete an Application for Driver's License (Form 1015) to request a replacement.

You may apply physically at your local DMV branch office, or you can mail it.

4. TRANSFER OF REGISTRATION OR LICENSE INFORMATION.

You may transfer your registration information to another vehicle by submitting an Application for Vehicle Registration Transfer (Form 990P).

You may also share your license information with another vehicle by submitting an Application for Driver's License (Form 1015).

5. NAME/ADDRESS CHANGE.

You must submit an Application for Change of Address (Form 1010A) if you change your address or an Application for Change of Name (Form 1010B) if you become married, divorced, change your name, etc.

6. UPLOAD OF RECEIPT.

If you book your vehicle through a third-party operator, you must upload an Affidavit/Acceptance for Electronic Reporting (Form 1004) for your car.

7. VEHICLE REGISTRATION.

You may complete your online or physical registration at a Delaware DMV office or by mail. To register in person, visit your local Delaware DMV branch office.


DMV on the Go is a program created to help our customers reduce their waiting time in the DMV office. Delaware DMV has partnered with AAA offices to provide you with a counter-service option to complete your DMV transactions.

You can drop off and pick up your documents at any AAA location in New Castle County that the Delaware DMV has approved.

You can find the go-carts in Wilmington, Dover, Georgetown, and Bear. You do not need to schedule an appointment with AAA to drop off or pick up your documents.

The Delaware DMV on the Go Cart is open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Monday through Thursday and from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Fridays.
