Renew a Missouri License or ID
Missouri License or ID Renewal
You can renew a Missouri license or ID up to 6 months before or after expiration (without having to retake the license test).
NOTE: The documents needed to obtain a REAL ID are different than for a standard license or ID.
To renew a Missouri license or identification card, you must visit your local driver licensing office and provide your:
- Proof of identity. This may include your:
- U.S. passport.
- U.S. birth certificate.
- Certificate of Citizenship or Naturalization.
- Proof of lawful status. This may include your:
- U.S. birth certificate.
- U.S. passport or passport card.
- U.S. birth abroad certificate.
- Proof of social security. This may include your:
- Social security card.
- W-2 or 1099 tax form.
- Paystub containing full name and social security number (SSN).
- Proof of Missouri residency. This may include your:
- Utility bill.
- Voter registration card.
- Property tax receipt.
- Payment for the applicable renewal fee.

MO License and ID Renewal Fees
License or ID fees are based on how long the card is valid, which is determined by age:
- Class A, B, or C (18 to 20 years OR 70 years old and older): $26 (valid 3 years).
- Class A, B, or C (70 years old with an āSā endorsement): $6 (valid 1 year and requires a skills test to renew).
- Class A, B, or C (21 to 69 years old): $52 (valid 6 years).
- Class E (18 to 20 years old OR 70 years old and older): $21 (valid 3 years).
- Class E (70 years old with an āSā endorsement): $6 (valid 1 year and requires a skills test to renew).
- Class F (18 to 20 years old OR 70 years old and older): $13.50 (valid 3 years).
- Class F (21 years to 69 years old): $27 (valid 6 years).
- Non-driver ID (up to 69 years old): $18 (valid 6 years).
- Non-driver ID (70 years and older): $12 (non-expiring).
