Illinois Vehicle Registration

IL Vehicle Title and Registration

When you purchase a used vehicle in Illinois or move to Illinois from another state, you’ll need to title and register the vehicle with the Illinois Secretary of State (SOS).

You can complete your transaction online/by mail or at an SOS facility. New residents must apply in person.

  1. A completed Application for Vehicle Transaction(s) (VSD 190).
