Virginia DMV Select Office Now Open in Colonial Heights

Those dreaded trips to the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles just got a little more convenient for the citizens of Colonial Heights thanks to the recent opening of a DMV Select office in the city. The building is located on James Avenue, and it officially opened its doors to the public on October 24. The office is open from 9 am to 4 pm on Mondays through Fridays. There are no plans at this time to open on the weekends.

The Colonial Heights DMV Select office will specialize in vehicle-related transactions. This includes all transactions involving titles, vehicle registrations, license plates, and disabled parking placards. The new DMV Select office will also handle voter registration applications and sell E-ZPass transponders.

Since the office only specializes in vehicle-related transactions, you will not be able to take care of anything involving driver's licenses. This includes renewing an existing license, taking the road skills test, taking the written exam, or applying for a learner's permit. All of these tasks must be performed at one of the full-service DMV locations in Virginia.

The opening of this DMV Select office is a massive win for the people of Colonial Heights. The more than 18,000 citizens of the city will now have a local DMV office to handle quick transactions instead of being forced to drive to a nearby city. This will save the residents of Colonial Heights a lot of time and money over the years. It should also cut down on the lines at several other nearby Virginia DMV offices. Shorter lines at the DMV are something that everyone will happily enjoy.
