Outside Driver Skills Testing Put on Hold in Welch due to Festival.

Default News Image

It’s that time of year again, folks! There’s a nip in the air and the smell of carnival food tempting our tastebuds. Yes, the Coaltown Fall Festival is just around the corner, bringing with it to our Main Street karaoke music, the fireman’s tug of war, rock climbing, hayrides, a zip line, inflatables, a car show, and fireworks to close out the festivities on Saturday night. All will have a good time!

To get everything set up and ready for the festival, as well as ensure the safety and well-being of all our citizens, it will be necessary to close some of our roads temporarily. Because of that, the Welch Division of Motor Vehicles Regional Office will be unable to conduct outside driver skills testing for the rest of this week only.

All services besides driver skills testing will be available in the Welch DMV Regional Office as usual. Offices in Beckley, Princeton, and all other offices in the area will be offering outside driver skills testing for anyone who is in need of one during this time. The Welch DMV Regional Office will again conduct outside driver skills testing on Monday, September 26. We apologize for any inconvenience you might have to endure because of this, but as my Momma always says, “you gotta take the bitter with the sweet!” Everyone is welcome to visit our website any time you want at DMV.wv.go.
