Hudson, NY DMV Offices Closure Causes Operations Interruption.

The public woke to the news of the Hudson department of motor vehicles office closure that will start Tuesday, November 29, through Thursday, December 1.

However, the Columbia County Clerk's office and the DMV have explained the move, saying it was meant to allow for construction in the DMV office. According to Holly Tanner, who was speaking for the County Clerk's office, the construction will entail the replacement of the large window that is found behind the counter; therefore, no operations would take place in that office while the construction was ongoing.

The public was advised that the offices will remain open on Monday, November 28, for those with urgent service needs. Tanner advised the public to use the available drop box 24/7 to ensure their queries still reached the relevant office during the closure period. On short notice, Tanner advised that the clerk's office and the records office will not be affected by the temporary interruption and will remain open for business the whole week. This means that only limited functions will take place in the office until full-capacity operations resume on Friday, December 2.
