Bell County Tax Assessor-Collector Change of Hours

Default News Image

Recently, there was a change in the Bell County Tax Assessor-Collector and Vehicle Registration hours of operation. This change in hours has been in effect since September 6th. The change in hours will be in effect for all office locations.

Before the hours of operation were changed, the staff had to manage the many transactions flooding in from dealerships. Now, the change in hours allows for smoother service that is more consistent that all customers can take advantage of.

From September 6 and on, the hours will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m, Monday to Friday. Although the office hours are until 4 p.m., the staff will work daily until 5 p.m. From 4 p.m. to 5 p.m, the staff will concentrate on title transfers from dealerships.

In July, the local offices remained closed for a month and a half to allow the staff to catch up on a title transfer backlog that seemed never to end.

However, the number of days per week was unnecessary as the backlog was easily caught up with just working six normal days. The remaining day allowed the offices to be open for regular business.

When you need to renew your vehicle registration, you can take advantage of several different methods to accomplish it. You can visit local businesses, such as Brookshire Brothers, mail it in, or go online at TxDMV.gov.
