Arkansas vehicle owners must keep their vehicle plates valid with the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA). There are 4 options to renew your AR vehicle registration. You can renew:

Online.
By phone.
By mail.
In person.

You should receive a renewal notice in the mail before your current registration expires.

Before renewing your registration, you must have your vehicle assessed at your local county assessor’s office and pay any outstanding property taxes. Many locations allow you to complete your assessment online. Compliance will be confirmed electronically upon renewal.

Renew AR Car Registration Online or by Phone

Renewing a vehicle registration online or by mail is simple and convenient.

To complete your renewal online, visit the DFA online portal.

Call1-800-941-2580 to renew by phone.

Both options may require you to provide your:

Renewal PIN (found on your renewal notice) OR your:
- Vehicle identification number (VIN).
- License plate number.
- Zip code.
Credit card or electronic check information for payment.

You can also renew by mail. To renew by mail:

Complete the form attached to your renewal notice and verify all the information is correct.
Enclose a check or money order for the required amount.

Renew AR Vehicle Registration in Person

To renew your vehicle registration in person, visit your local State Revenue office. There, you may be asked to provide your:

Current registration OR renewal notice.
Proof of insurance.
Driver’s license or ID.
Payment for the renewal fee.

Passenger vehicles and motor homes (between 3,001 lbs. and 4,500 lbs.): $25.00
