New DMV Set To Open in Morgan County, WV To Help Ease Long Wait Times

Going to the BMV is about to get a lot easier for residents of the greater Charleston, WV region. The spring of 2023 will bring about significant changes, as a new facility is under construction to service the Berkeley Springs area. A regional office for the DMV will open and provide full service to those in and around this district.

The new facilities will take some of the burdens from the Charleston Regional and Martinsburg locations, which are always overcrowded. Morgan county desperately needs additional facilities to help ease the burden of buying tags and licenses. The population in this county has swelled to staggering numbers and having adequate facilities to serve the people is imperative.

Customer service needs to be improved, as part of the problem is there’s an insufficient number of workers versus the customers they service. Long lines and frustrated people are commonplace, which is a direct result of overcrowded BMV locations in the area.

Citizens of the Eastern Panhandle are excited about these changes, as conducting business with this state agency has become impossible due to crowding. Since this is a full-service office, customers can take the written and driving test to obtain licenses and permits, renew driver’s licenses and tags, and do title transfer services.

The best news isn’t the facility but the fact that it will ensure it’s staffed with adequate employees. They’re estimating having at least 12 workers, and they might add more if the demand warrants it. A new DMV is a blessing to the Morgan County area, and another perk is that it brings jobs to the region.

By the spring of 2023, this facility should be up and running. Anyone interested in working at the new DMV can find information about the application process on their website.
