My husband and I went to this DMV location wanting to get a replacement license. Since we did not have an appointment we were told that we had to go to a different location but we needed an appointment. I also asked if I could get a replacement card for my handicap placard and we were treated with the utmost kindness and attention. The gentleman also assisted me in applying for the replacement license on-line. We often come to these spaces to complain but I must say that we left this DMV office with a smile and knowing that there are still people willing to help.

Read all of the negative reviews and was a bit apprehensive to go there. Quite the contrary...very nice and efficient staff. I got in and got out with a good feeling. The staff was quite friendly and most helpful.

Thursday, Apr 25, 2024, at Jennings OMV I tried to get a title transfer of a 1986 mobile home I inherited from my mom, Judgement of Possession 07/20/022, to DONATE, and after going to Breaux Bridge OMV day before they told me they could do a double title transfer. But Jennings gave me a Rejection Notice stating it needed a Notarized affidavit of correction for date of sale (description must be corrected) 06/19/2006, notary had corrected date and initialed it & notarized signed it the SAME date, which Breaux Bridge OMV said she noted that & WAS NOT A PROBLEM. On the Rejection Notice, Jennings also checked Submit certified copy of judgment of possession, which I had given her the certified copy my attorney had sent to me. When I mentioned that the Breaux Bridge OMV said she could transfer the title, the Jennings clerk said it could not be done until corrections were made. She was very rude and made sure everyone in the room new she's been working there 27 years and the rules have never changed for getting a title transfer. The mgr of the business I was donating the mobile home to advised me that they always had problems when they went to her. Why would a person working in a PUBLIC OFFICE be so RUDE AND UGLY. I assumed she was very unhappy with her job and WAITING TO RETIRE, WHICH I'M SURE HER CO-WORKERS WERE WAITING FOR =) Our notary advised us to go to Mowen Tag & Title, Jennings, which luckily we did. The very nice and polite young lady did a triple title transfer which the business paid for because I was Donating it. She even worked after 4:00 to finish everything. Jennings OMV lost a PAYING CUSTOMER because of a very rude clerk. She could have done what the very nice and competent young lady at Breaux Bridge OMV would have done. Too bad it was so far to have to drive, would have had to make an appt for the next day. But because of the Jennings clerk’s rudeness, they LOST A PAYING CUSTOMER! I forgive the clerk at Jennings OMV because she might have a lot on her plate and it was after 3:00. I try to follow the Good Book, “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” “A man who is kind benefits himself, but a cruel man hurts himself.” “Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.” “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”

Would never go here again for a road test. The examiner has no personality and was extremely rude. The minute we walked into the exam station and saw him, we knew my teenager had no chance of passing the road test. He was in a bad mood, He never greeted us, asked us for any info, etc. We had to do all the talking and he acted like we were inconveniencing him. He maybe uttered two words. Otherwise, we we suppose to figure out what he wanted. Not sure if is a requirement, to be a non-communicator, rude and disrespectful to the customers. A road test examiner should be a people person and greet people. Teenagers are already nervous and scared to do anything wrong, Does not help when you have an extremely one who is mad at the world or something. He was definitely not a people person. Why do they always hire people with no personality or people skills. Unfortunately, with all the examine stations in Minnesota, it is hard to find one that has appointments available and friendly examiners. We drove for 2 hours to be treated like crap. If you can avoid going to Preston, Minnesota, for a road test, I would avoid. Too bad this examiner represents the city of Preston. Not impress at all.

I decided to visit this office after first trying to get into the Marcus Pointe location. I, too, won't go anywhere besides here in the future. Busy, but not stifling. Melissa was great in helping me transfer my driver's license to FL. The office is small compared to others and they handle both registrations and licenses. Tag renewals seemed to move quickly. It appeared there are only two stations (out of about 10 windows) with camera capability for new licenses, which isn't a problem unless you're trying to get a new license! My advice is to get in line before their 8:30 opening or make an appointment if you can wait that long (they're booking about two months out). Regardless, I'd go here in the future before trying any of the the other locations.
