Today is the second time traveling to Kodiak which is the nearest DMV. We live in a village so we have to fly to Kodiak at a cost of $154 roundtrip. The first time we couldn't get the CDL renewed because the computers were down. The DMV was called yesterday to see if we needed an appointment for today. They said no appointment needed. Well we are going to spend another $154 today in travel and still can't get nothing done because they are only doing road test today. They need to have a direct line to the Kodiak DMV so we can get correct information.

Everything went well. It was easy to stay a safe distance and everyone wore masks. The staff person was knowledgable. She was able to answer all of my questions. and she was able to get me prepared for my next visist to the DMV so I will have everything I need. She gave me a list of documents I need to next time I come.

The location was easy to find, although the parking lot was very full and not plowed after the snow storm. Due to COVID you had to make an appointment online, which was nice in reducing the wait time. The employees themself were a bit rude, and told me I had downloaded the wrong forms even though they were the only ones on the website. They fixed it though and I was able to get in and out fairly quickly.

It is in a convenient location. There is limited parking and long wait times. I would not recommend bringing a trailer there. The staff is friendly and efficient. They didn't make you do any COVID nonsense at the time I was there, but that changes from time to time, so you should check first.
